Alcoholado - Abuela's Agua De Florida
Alcoholado, also called Alcolado or Bay Rum, is the most popular abuela’s apothecary pain remedy. This medicine is our great grandmother Tata’s recipe. All the plants are harvested ethically and locally in Abuela Rosa’s house in Carolina, Puerto Rico and other plants are harvested from our home conuco in Eugene, Oregon.
My Great-Grandmother's Botiquín
I learned to make alcoholado through sobadas, not from a recipe.
My great-grandmother gave me sobadas for pain, for fevers, for everything a child's body couldn't name. She had her hands, her quiet prayers, and her alcoholado, the same remedy that lived in the botiquín of every Boricua home in Borikén, passed down generation after generation.
This alcoholado follows that inherited recipe: allspice, rue, rosemary, cinnamon, and ylang ylang, and a blessed tobacco leaf.
How to use it: Rub onto pulse points, the back of the neck, or the soles of the feet for pain, fatigue, before sleep, or before ceremony. A splash in bathwater cleanses and renews.
This isn't just a remedy. It's family memory, carried across generations, now in your hands.
More uses:
-A bath to lower the fever.
-As a friction or body rub for muscle pains.

-Headache relief. Apply cold from the fridge to the forehead using a cloth.
-Aftershave to refresh and prevent razor burn.
-Relieve insect bites.
-Spiritual cleansing.
-Even as a perfume.
-Spiritual protection
